ABOUT US
Located in the heart of Downtown Slinger, the Museum officially opened its doors on June 28, 2020. Our 5,000-square-foot exhibit space takes visitors on a journey through 180 years of local history—from Slinger’s founding in 1845 by Baruch Schleisinger Weil to the vibrant community it is today.
At the Slinger Historical Museum, we strive to inspire a deeper appreciation for our community’s rich heritage through engaging exhibitions, educational programs, and carefully preserved collections. Our partnerships with local organizations, schools, and churches help us create meaningful programs for all ages, promoting lifelong learning and a passion for history.
The Slinger Historical Museum is a self-funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, operated entirely by dedicated volunteers.
We look forward to serving and celebrating our community for many years to come.

VOLUNTEER SIGN UP
Volunteering at the Schleisingerville to Slinger Historical Museum is a rewarding and enjoyable way to support local history and connect with the community. Our docent shifts are just 2.5 hours and no special knowledge of Slinger’s history is required. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or new to the area, we welcome all who have an interest in helping preserve our past.
In fact, volunteering is one of the best ways to learn about Slinger’s history. Our visitors often share their own memories, stories, and family connections, making each shift a unique and meaningful experience. If you enjoy meeting people, listening to stories, and being part of a community effort, volunteering at the museum is a perfect fit.
We would love to have you join our team and help keep Slinger’s history alive.
In addition to docent shifts, we also offer a variety of behind-the-scenes volunteer opportunities. These include data entry, cleaning, basic maintenance, scanning and organizing documents, historical research, merchandise restocking, and much more. Whether you prefer working with people or helping out quietly behind the scenes, there is a role for you. We would love to hear from you if you’d like to help out in any way.
